KLW Governance Solutions is led by Kerri Wells, a governance and strategic policy expert with more than 20 years of leadership experience in local and provincial government.

Kerri has spent her career supporting elected officials, executive teams, and organizations as they navigate complex governance, legislative, and administrative environments. She is known for bringing clarity to challenging issues and delivering practical, experience-based solutions that strengthen decision-making and accountability.  She has held senior executive and statutory roles including Corporate Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Election Officer, Director of Policy, and Director of Corporate Administration. Her work spans governance, policy and bylaw modernization, privacy management and AI governance, election administration, organizational reviews, and process and service delivery modernization, with a strong focus on solutions that are grounded in operational realities, innovative technologies and public-sector accountability. She has also led government relations strategy and advocacy efforts for private industry. 

Through KLW Governance Solutions, Kerri works with local and regional governments, Indigenous Nations and governments, and non-profit organizations seeking trusted, experience-based support and advice. She takes a collaborative, solutions-focused approach that is mindful of cultural and organizational context. When projects require additional capacity or specialized knowledge, she collaborates with a network of qualified professionals to enhance delivery of projects. 

Kerri holds a B.A.  in Political Science, post-graduate studies through UVic's School of Public Administration, and strategic communication and leadership training through the Municipal Administration Training Institute (MATI). She recently completed the Fundamentals of   OCAP®, is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and is currently in the process of obtaining her AI Governance Professional (AIGP) certification.
